“From Friday, 20th September to Sunday, 22nd September, students from the SEA had the opportunity to go on a surf weekend with ‘Australian Surf Tours’ in Bendalong, south of Sydney.
After a 4-hour drive we arrived at the campsite in Bendalong, just next to the sea. We met other students from different English schools in Sydney. Unfortunately it was already dark outside, so we couldn’t see clearly the location from this camping. But when we got up on Saturday morning, after a rather cold night in the tents, we just were amazed by this beautiful place! The campsite is located in a national park, so we saw a lot of kangaroos and other animals. After a great breakfast we went to the beach for our first surf lessons. It was very tricky at the beginning, especially for people who never tried surfing before! After a lunch break we went again surfing with our surf teachers. The first day was hard but a lot of fun! On Saturday night we enjoyed a delicious dinner and after that we had a bonfire on the beach with amazing live guitar music!
On Sunday we had a really good breakfast as well because we needed a lot of energy for this second day… So we went again to the beach for our surf lessons and had a lot of fun. After lunch, some of us were very tired and we just played beach volleyball and beach soccer, and the people with enough energy left surfed again and caught a lot of nice waves!
After that sunny day we were all so tired but just so happy and we drove back to Manly.
All in all it was just an unforgettable weekend with a lot of new people, great surf teachers, cool music, delicious food and nice weather! It was also a good opportunity to see another place, just next to Sydney but still a different landscape with a nice coast and a lot of animals in the national park! Just an amazing surf weekend! Big thanks to Australian Surf Tours and Sydney English Academy!!!”
