Activities contribute to great French learning experience

To give the language stay the final touch, we offer a varied activity program to all of our students. Participating to activities such as visits to nearby cities, food or wine tasting, french movies, theater masterclasses, etc…  is another interesting way to study and learn more french.

We believe in the overall experience for our students, and activities are helping a lot to create a group connection.

In our school I am the activities coordinator and in charge of the organisation of all the trips we offer after school. Beside the organization I’m always looking for new deals to diversify our program.

Try new experiences

I would say that this is my favorite part of work as I am very interested in our culture, in finding new places and new fun activities…  We are really lucky to live on the French Riviera as so many places around us are breathtaking, and it’s a very lively place where a lot happens. For me it’s very important to transmit these feelings to our students.

Of course, our most popular activities are the visit of famous places such as Cannes, Monaco, Antibes. But our students appreciate that we do not just show them the tourist places, we always try to find a unique experience to live for our students  in those places. For example, when we go to Cannes, we invite them to discover the beautiful St Marguerite Island, just 15 minutes by boat from Cannes, it is the perfect place to have a walk, or swim in the green blue sea. For students loving our wines and cheeses it’s also the perfect place for a wine tasting with the monks on St Honorat Island.

In Monaco our students discover the Oceanographic Museum where they can touch the sharks. After this unique adventure we share a dinner in a typical restaurant to savor Monaco’s specialities.

Very popular are our sport activities such as  : diving, snorkeling, watersky, parachute, segway … This summer we also tried a new activity which started this year : Nice Car where students can visit the city in a very small car.

Socialise with other students

Not to forget are our activities in the evening where everyone can meet and talk. Either we offer bowling or play pétanque the typical french sport !

We  go as well to a quiz night , a salsa lesson or karaoke in the old town. But the activity the adult students still prefer is food and wine tasting. French are famous for their love of good food and wine and it is a pleasure to share this with our students.

For example, last week, I have met a local wine producer in the north of Nice to buy their local organic wine called Vin de Bellet. Accompanied by French cheese we had a great  tasting with 25 students from all over the world.

We plan to offer more cooking classes as a lot of students would love to know how to make macarons or salade niçoise per example.

Discover the destination

Some of our students are choosing before their arrival in Nice to mix french lessons with the discovery of the region.

For these students we can offer the following packages :

  • NEW: Our Junior Summer Program  for teenagers from 14 to 17 years old.  Included in the program are the Continuous French course during the morning, different activities in the afternoon, as well as accommodation, boarding and transfers. This program will take place during the summer in our Cimiez center.
  • 50 + French Program: A very popular program which takes place 4 times a year (May, June, September and October) opens to the 50 + students who want to pratice french and learn more about french culture in the afternoon.

Alpha.b the perfect place to study french and discover our way of life on the beautiful French Riviera !
